FAQs
Got Mold Concerns? Find Quick Answers to Common Questions Here!
How accurate are detection dogs at identifying hidden mold?
Bodhi is a professionally trained mold detection dog, developed through structured scent detection methodologies similar to those used in medical, explosive, and narcotics detection disciplines.
His training focuses on identifying odor signatures associated with microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) and hidden mold-related conditions, helping guide further investigation into potential areas of concern within a home.
What makes K9 Mold Detect LLC different from other mold inspection services?
Our service is often used as a first step in the evaluation process, helping guide where further inspection and laboratory testing may be most effective. We offer both pre and post remediation checks to help assess conditions before and after remediation work, as well as peace-of-mind home checks.
This approach provides rapid non invasive insight to streamline the process with greater clarity and direction, serving as an additional mold screening tool that can help save valuable time and cost.
What should I do if your service detects mold in my home?
Mold related concerns are identified during a inspection with a detailed overview of all alert locations including environmental readings and guided next steps. We also provide a list of recommended referral partners with strong reputations in the mold and remediation industry specific to your area, should additional services be needed. In addition, we offer guidance on moisture control and environmental conditions to help reduce the likelihood of future mold related concerns.
How long does a typical mold inspection take?
Most K9 inspection services take between 2 to 3 hours depending on the size and complexity of the property. Larger homes may require additional time. To help ensure an efficient process, we provide a detailed home preparation checklist for homeowners prior to the appointment to help streamline the detection process.
Can mold return after professional remediation?
Mold is dynamic and can become active within 24 to 48 hours when a moisture source is present, and may remain dormant or fluctuate seasonally based on environmental conditions such as humidity, temperature, and water intrusion. We focus on identifying source locations of mold related concerns to help indicate where moisture may have originated, supporting more effective next steps for resolution.
As a K9 Mold Detect customer, we offer follow up detections if conditions change, if new odors develop, or if water intrusion is suspected.
