About Bodhi

Bodhi’s story is one of rescue, resilience, and family. At just nine months old, he found himself in a shelter at no fault of his own, an oversized puppy with the heart of a working dog, but misunderstood and traumatized by his surroundings. He was only four hours from being euthanized when MAD Rescue (Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue) stepped in. They looked past his fear and saw the sweet, soulful eyes of a dog who deserved saving.

Bodhi spent the next two months charming foster families and winning the hearts of everyone he met. Our family was lucky enough to be chosen as his forever home, and thanks to an incredible network of volunteers, he made the long trek from New Jersey to Florida. From the moment he arrived, Bodhi settled in and quickly became an Akerman in every sense, loyal, loving, goofy, and full of life.

As a true working dog, Bodhi the Belgian Malinois has found his purpose in scent detection. Every day we feel lucky to work alongside him, watching him thrive and do what he loves. His journey reminds us daily that even the toughest beginnings can lead to incredible futures.

We will always be grateful to MAD Rescue for saving Bodhi’s life and bringing this sweet boy into ours.
